Workspace Invite Settings

Control how members join your workspace and what permissions they receive.

Access: Go to Workspace SettingsInvite Settings

Note: These settings are only available to workspace administrators.

Joining Permission and Default Role

Permission to Join Workspace

Choose how new members can join your workspace:

Upon admin approval

  • New members must be approved by an administrator before gaining access
  • Admins receive notifications when someone requests to join
  • Provides greater control over who joins your workspace

Instant access

  • Anyone invited or with the invite link can join

Default Role When Member Joins

Set the default role assigned to new members automatically:

Available roles:

  • Editor - Can view and edit animations (shown as default in screenshot)
  • Viewer or Developer - Only available for Enterprise workspace

Invitation Link Settings

Allow Members to Invite Others

This setting controls whether regular members have invitation privileges or if invitation rights are restricted to admins only.

  • Toggle ON - Any workspace member can invite new people to join

  • Toggle OFF - Only administrators can send invitations

Enable Invite Link

  • Toggle ON - Generate a shareable link that allows anyone with the link to join the workspace

  • Toggle OFF - Disable the invite link functionality

⚠️ Important: Disabling the invite link will inactivate it for anyone who has already received it. Existing link recipients will no longer be able to use it to join.

💡 Security Tip: Use invite links cautiously. For better security, consider keeping this disabled and using direct email invitations instead, especially for workspaces with sensitive content.

Best Practices

For small teams:

  • Enable admin approval for better control
  • Allow members to invite others for flexibility
  • Set default role to Editor for active collaboration

For large organizations:

  • Require admin approval for all joins
  • Restrict invitation privileges to admins only
  • Set default role to Viewer and upgrade as needed
  • Use email domain restrictions if available
