Motion System in the LottieFiles Figma

Motion System helps teams create and reuse motion standards across projects.

You can manage colors, easings, fonts, assets, and motion presets in one place and apply them directly in Figma.

Motion Systems can be created in the LottieFiles Platform or directly from the LottieFiles Figma Plugin.

 

Why Use Motion System?

Motion System helps you:

  • Keep animations consistent across projects

  • Reuse approved motion styles and settings

  • Apply colors, easings, fonts, and presets without recreating them

  • Stay aligned with the same Motion System used in Creator and the After Effects plugin

How to Use Motion System

  1. Open your Figma file and launch the LottieFiles plugin.

  2. Go to the System tab.

  3. Select an existing Motion System or click Create New.

  4. Select a layer in your Figma file.

  5. Choose the value you want to apply.

  6. Click Apply.

Note: If no layer is selected, you'll see a "No layer selected" message.


FAQs

Do I need an existing Motion System?

No. You can create a new Motion System directly from the plugin or use an existing one from your workspace.

Why isn't the Apply button working?

Make sure you have selected a layer in your Figma file before clicking Apply.

Can I use the same Motion System in Figma, After Effects, and Lottie Creator?

Yes. Published Motion Systems are available across the Figma Plugin, After Effects Plugin, and Lottie Creator.
